I'm currently on my second of my free personal domains with them and so far, they haven't failed me or given me any issues.
I am bumping this thread to make a couple of point that I felt stood out in this conversation. First, don't use anything besides com, net, org, or edu if you ever want your site to be visible in the search engines. Also, you need to understand the difference between a domain and a sub-domain. They are giving you free space in their domain if that makes sense. I have also found that integrating my social media marketing campaign and
email marketing software with awkward subdomains has been a bit more tricky than expected.
For most sites, paying is the way to go.
