My understanding is that the bounce rate is the rate of 0 second visits on a site.

When a visitor lands on a website and he/she leaves the site without visiting other pages then in this condition bounce rate would be 100% but if visitor visits other pages of site then in this condition bounce rate would be 0%.

When lots of visitors visit your site and they don't stay on your site it would be in bounce rate as well.

Bounce rate indicate, how much time visitors are spending on your site.
The lower bounce rate percentage is good and it means visitors like your website content.

A bounce rate is basically a method to measure the quality of the traffic that comes to your site or blog. It is the number of visitors that opens your website and leaves it without viewing any other page. Through bounce rate, you can know the exact value of your blog or site. As an example, bounce rate 30% is much better than 75%. An ideal bounce rate is always less than 50%.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of single-page visits to total visits of a certain Dimension. For example, say you are looking at your Organic Traffic and sort by search engine. You follow the row across and see that Yahoo is delivering a 75% Bounce Rate. This means that 75% of the visitors coming from Yahoo to your website during the date range you have selected are visiting one page and leaving your site.

It is the percentage of visits in which a person leaves your website from the landing page without browsing another page. Google analytics calculates and report the bounce rate of a web page and bounce rate of a website.

Bounce Rate is the measurement of users that visit your site and leave without visiting a second page. It applies to a visit landing page i.e. the first page a person visits. A high bounce rate shows there are some problems with your website. Some reasons for high bounce rate are:

1. Single Page Website

2. User Behavior

3. Incorrect Implementation

4. Site Design

To calculate the bounce rate, follow this equation: Total no. of visits viewing one page only/Total no. of entries from that page.
