Hi I have installed Wordpress and everything in the setup runs well but when I try to install a new theme, plugin or see some panels of the dashboard I get "An Unexpected HTTP Error occured during the API request.". I have edited the http.php file to see what is failing and everytime my site is trying to get some info from other site I get a "Permission denied" error.

Any idea about that?

if theres anything like this my best guess is that they/you are on the free hosting plan. with smtp off allot of the back end features in wordpress wont work at all. something i had to battle with for a year but there are ways around by recoding and considering bring information in via RSS and using plugins that work in similar ways.

Hello I am having the exact same problem and I am also on the Chocolate free plan. Studio22 do you have any advice to any plugins that will work?
So far every plug in I have tried I can not make work. Doesn't matter how I go about it.
Or do you have the code that helps you go around it?

I would really appreciate any help because right now I am totally stuck with no access to plug ins!

Thanks,
Jessica

Hello,

Your Wordpress script tries to reach remote server to download and install the plugin. The free hosting accounts doesn't offer outgoing connections service, that's why the procedure fails. Please download the desired themes and plugins and install them manually, since you are not able to do this automatically on a free hosting account.

Best Regards,
Jimmy Thompson
