I want to make a Fanfiction archive but I have no idea how I should do this. I want to use eFicton though....is this possible and if yes, how should I go about installing it?

Downloaded eFiction, unzipped it and read the readme.txt..... and so far so good, but then I get to step 4:

4) Go to http://www.yoursite.com/ to run the install and set up the admin login.

What's Yoursite got to do with this? Do I need to sign something up there as well? Bear in mind that I have two left hands when it comes to the Internet....at least with making an archive.

umm, yup, i'll agree on the "two left hands" comment
:)

they mean go to your site, in this case, the site you made here on freehostia.

just so you aren't waiting for me or someone else to help next...
if you haven't got a database set up, do it now, before anything else, and have the database info handy, you'll need it in step 4, and after that, you'll basically be ready to go.

you'll need this db info:
user name
password
db name
db host

you get all that info in the email sent when you set up the database
user and db name will be the same
password: in the email
db host will be something like mysql3.freehostia.com

good luck!
:)

It worked! The archive is up and running. Needs some work but at least the archive is there. Thank you!
