Hello,
I am new to FreeHostia and so far I'm enjoying it. I have purchased the Advanced Plan.

My script request is fairly unique;

On www.leoboivinshowcase.ca I run a hockey tournament website, and this year I would like to provide a Live Updates page/system that will display real time scores that I will input via my laptop rink-side.
Is there a script or system (not paid) that I can simply enter the scores etc., and it automatically refreshes for the end user? I would like it to also store the stats/games in a database if possible, for later viewing.

Thank you

You can use Microsoft frontpage, but they will have to refresh the page and instantly it will be updated.

You would need a script that is a mixture of php and AJAX. Unfortunately i don't know of any pre-made scripts for doing this sort of thing.

Update:

I did a google search for ajax scoreboard and a few hits came up, it might be worth you investigating them,

hmm, just thinking, so i'm not sure but...

what about maybe putting it in an iframe and making the iframe refresh, say every 5 minutes?

another thought is to do something with an rss feed.
i'm not sure if either are possible without doing a bit more research

You can make a whole webpage within the iframe so it can be plenty detailed and any size you want.

you could create the page to display the info you want an insert javascript to refresh the page every 30 seconds and the score will be updated
