Hi!

Is anybody using Joomla CMS?

I have a problem. Sometimes when accesing to the site, a blank page with a 35 in the top-left corner appears. It's necesary to refresh (sometimes twice) to view the page correctly.

I've opened a ticket with the problem and Viktor (thanks a lot!!) told me that it's a problem with some not allowed words (like porn, etc) in the scripts of my site. The matter is that I have not modified the CMS (Joomla) at all, and I have not find any of these kind of words in the code.

Is there anybody with the same problem? Any solution? Can anybody help me?

Thanks!

Yep im using it, havent had any trouble latley. Freehostia have done allot of great work configuring their servers. Problems which used to happen no longer happen. And everything is perfect.

Be good if they could allow the smtp and email on the free accounts older than 3 months and which feature proper sites. Not as a policy but as an unwritten gesture of good will. - This would help spread user confidence and word of mouth. Make people feel special you know? If they start spamming, then you have it outlined in your policy that any free gifts can be reversed if abused..

i'm having a similar problem:

I installed Joomla manually, beacause the elefanted thing didn't work (php errors). It works fine, except sometimes the images don't load, and sometimes they do. It seems that for an hour it likes the images, but then an hour later i check again, and they are gone...

I'm not sure if this is a hotlinking problem because of the manual install, or something else...

1 thing i found out though, is that in Firefox, it's trying to load the images from *********.com instead of this site...

Well thats really weird.
All the images on my site work, and have so, consistantly, since i first signed up.

Im aware that the servers are case sensitive, so that if i have a file called Picture.JPG and i call it as picture.jpg it wont find it, but Joomla uses {mos-image} and so it should work fine.
So that is really weird.

Ive successfully installed Joomla in the past using both the elefante installer and doing it manually. One thing that would have helped manual installs is the abliity to upload zip files and have a script extract them, but then there are other issues to take into account like the small allowable uploadable file size on the free accounts.

As a side comment prehaps not related to this topic is that Freehostia's control panel in my opinion far succeeds "cpanel". Ive had much less problems, with the control panel than with cpanel, allthough prehaps cpanel offers a little more control, but still isnt worth experimenting with unless you are a professional and you know what you are doing. Freehostia makes it easy, becasue you cant stuff up. Ive managed to take a whole mail server down just becasue i created a subdomain mail.domain.com and then removed it.
