Hello! :)

I have a free account with Freehostia. I registered a domain (well, technically it's a subdomain: http://shifter1.co.cc) for free with http://co.cc and hosted it here. I have been using a subdomain with Freehostia for over a year (just got the free domain today) and you guys are awesome, but...

Is there any way I can get an email address that's something like "me [at]shifter1.co.cc"? It's just a personal site and I'd feel bad lying to Google saying I'm a not-for-profit organization just to get the free addresses they give ;)

So is there any possible way I could get it, for free? Thanks. I managed to set up a webmail account in my free account but then it doesn't send or receive mail. I came here and read that free accounts can't have mail, but I have some kind of hope :P

Thank you :)

you should be able to set that one up in your control panel.
being a free account, it will receive mail, but not send mail.

before you do that, check out google apps

http://www.google.com/apps/

i'm pretty sure you can do exactly what you are wanting to do there.

Thanks :)

I'm pretty sure I'm about to sound stupid here, but I can't figure out Google Apps. I am not a business or school or anything like that. My site's just a personal site, that's why I want to keep it free. I do believe Apps is for businesses, right? I'm not sure, any help would be nice! Thanks again :)

I will set up a free account. I set one up yesterday in my cp but I closed it shortly after. I sent emails to it while it was open from my gmail account but it didn't come through so I gave up and closed it. I suppose I should leave it open for a while and see if the mail comes in. Thank you for your time.

P.S. Barrie is cool (I live in the GTA)

Hello FnCool, Where can I find the CName Record? I can't seem to find. I've already put the MX record from google a. Thanks.

do you own your own domain?
if so, you set it up from the site where you purchased your domain.
log in, and look near the mx/dns records
