When I use the domain without www. in front of it, it works fine, but it cannot be found with the www in front.

not sure if this is mx records or something.

I was using a different domain to begin with, then I deleted that domain and used the one i had just registered.

Is this something to do with mx records or subdomains or what? and how do I fix?

Do you really mean a domain or actually a subdomain? A domain looks like "domain.com", a subdomain is "sub.domain.com". On our servers subdomains will NOT work with www in front.

If you however referred to a domain, then there should be a problem on our end. If this is the case, please open a trouble ticket as explained here: http://forum.freehostia.com/viewtopic.php?t=7

really?

So I can have www.mydomain.com, sub.mydomain.com but not www.sub.mydomain.com.

What's the reason for this?

www.sub.domain.com won't work. This is just the way our system works, technically it is not possible to have a subdomain of a subdomain with our system.

Right, so it's not to do with the www's it's just you can't have two levels deep of subdomains. Therefore you couldn't have sub1.sub2.mydomain.com either?
