On my traffic page I recently noticed traffic coming from the site Whois.sc (now whois.domaintools.com). It's a service that allows you to look up the IP, hosting, DNS, and lots of other things about any website that you type in, plus allows you to put up a "reserve" of sorts, to buy out a domain name when its term expires.

I was shocked to see that anyone using it had access, repeated three times on the page, to all of my personal information. (I know it was taken directly from my input to FreeHostia because there was a typo in the info that I later fixed). To test it out, I then input one of my friends' personal sites, hosted elsewhere, and was given for contact only "[webhosting] Private User" and the host company's contact information.

Is there a way I can similarly screen my personal information from the wide world?

(Feel free to move the thread if it belongs elsewhere. There doesn't seem to be a forum for "Creepy Stalkerish Tracking Websites" )

You just need to protect your personal details, you can do this by purchasing a protect ID service for your domain. If the domain is registered with us- the cost is 10$ USD. and you can request this service ins a system ticket.

It is active for one year. After this you should pay for more one year if you want to continue using this service.

Why is it that you would display all of this private data out for all of the public to see!
This looks very bad for you guys I would think
And it would be very tempting to some to use False names-phone numbers..
Personaly I don't see why I have to pay for it!.

Maybe your ad protection or firewall is blocking the center images...
I know a few people who have worse than that...
