SMTP Question

hi i was wondering someting
i have your free account hosting and i have forum on this account
but when i send someone private message i get this error message:

Code:

Could not connect to smtp host : 97 : Address family not supported by protocol

DEBUG MODE

Line : 112
File : smtp.php

why?
is this some error or what?

it may be because mail functions have been disabled for free accounts, but i don't know why it would be trying to send an email for private messaging...

this is for notification of new private message
but this no work

I suppose that you are on the Free plan - your forum could not send a notification email when someone receives a PM so it returns this error. On the Free plan you cannot send emails, I am sorry.

there is a smf forums with other type
"sendmail" and it didn`t uses SMTP
