I'm trying to set up my website with Wordpress as a CMS.

I'd like the website to be accessible by typing "" rather than ""

I tried setting that up via the Wordpress dashboard but no cigar. Now I'm trying to modify the htaccess file but I get a "550" permission error. I also tried creating the htaccess via the Free Hostia control panel but I get an error as well.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you have just installed the script, much, much easier would be to simply re-install the script, but this time, leave the 'Path' field empty (or just '/'). This should install the script in the root domain folder, and it will open as default. Another option is to edit your domain, using the site Management section (in the new, Hepsia control panel), and change its default folder to:

This will make the Wordpress folder to be opened as default.
