Hi,
I have a PHPBB3 forum and it used to work fine, but now when i enter the Admin Panel, on the System tab, i get the following error:

Information

Connection refused

I looked into error log and also saw it's not sending mails anymore. (i'm using google`s smtp to send mails)
so, is there any problem with php`s fsockopen() function?

thanks.

I'm pretty sure the fsockopen() function has been disabled, due to security issues(which is a big problem)

you can use the "no activation" option, which uses the good CAPTCHA included with PHPBB3, or you can just go with "Admin Activation".
either of these can be set in the admin section of PHPBB3.

check back in a bit, i'm sure an admin will properly confirm or deny this, but i'm pretty sure i've read this in other replies.

i'm already using captcha, but mail was useful to notify about private messages, recover passwords and so on. i didn't require account activation by email address confirmation.

anyway, i'm waiting for the official confirmation.
thanks for the reply

FnCool is correct, fsockopen() has been disabled for security reasons. For more information can you please contact the support team directly by opening a ticket from your control panel.
