Hi,
Some time ago I installed a very simple CMS, called CMSimple (well worth a look) if you want a very easy to use CMS with no MySQL!!! After slowly transfering my site data over to the CMS I have now made my home page index.php and deleted the index.html

The problem that I now have is the address has now changed from http://bodgit-scarper.com/index.html to http://bodgit-scarper.com/index.php

Will all the "bookmarked" address that web browsers have saved still work? When I tried it, firefox said the page was unavailable (hardly surprising, since I deleted it!)

Question; Is there a snippet of code that I can add to index.html that will automatically redirect the browser to index.php???

Thanks,

Hey The Badger

put this code into a file called index.html

Code:
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=index.php">
</head>
</html>

and all should be well, if it doesnt work, just yell.

Josh

Just my $0.02 but wouldn't a 301 redirect in .htaccess be better than a meta-refresh? Meta-refreshes can be bad for search engine optimizations, and some users (such as myself) disable such redirects for security purposes...
