For some reason the images, both in menu designs, headers, etc. And just plain pictures don't show up on my site once I upload it.

The site works fine on the local directory and I have put in all the image names in a rellitve form (ie. /images/example.jpg or ../images/example.jpg rather than full addresses)

The home page of my site is http://additives.freehostia.com/home.html

And an index page where you can find all the files, including the images that don't load is http://additives.freehostia.com

Thankyow all in advance for your help, I am self tought and this is my first page I have uploaded, so I want to get it right.[/url]

first of all your home page should be named index.html so it loads up without seeing all the files available. And when i open it up i can see all the images fine. Have you sinced fixed that problem?

Ok, just wanted to help anyone who comes in ans sees the IE issue, grab a thing called the "global reset", i think its a yahoo product.

or something like <--if IE then style = "iecss.css" end if--> will also work....or atleast i think that's the code. Just prep an extra stylesheet for IE with just the values that need ajusting, and chuck that in AFTER your normal sheet.

I AM HAVING A DOUBT IF ANY ONE CAN PLS..

I am construct a web server management freebsd 7.1

i used apache22, and upload an HTML file with texts in it and it mechanism fine.

however, I hardened another one, index.html with a .swf inside. So I opened my firefox and browsed the website, it did not load the flash/swf.

I don't know what is missing, do I have to set up another third party app? or a plugin? a patch?

thanks in advance for the help

There are some of the basic reasons, through which images are not loading on your website;
1. Incorrect File Paths
2. Misspelled Filenames
3. Wrong File Extensions
4. Missing Files
5. Image Host Down
6. Transfer Issues
7. Database Problems
8. Extra: Use ALT Tags Properly
Consider the proper use of ALT tags and your website speed and overall performance. ALT tags are what is displayed by a browser if an image fails to load. They are also an important component in creating accessible websites that can be used by people with certain disabilities.
