I've been trying to upload Joomla but have had a few problems. First of all, I tried uploading the whole Joomla 1.5.21 installation folder via Filezilla (it took around 4 hours, and several files couldn't upload). I've been told that that's wrong, and that the individual files (not the main folder) should be uploaded to my root.

I already created a mysql database (setting a username, password, database name, and I have a database host and port for it, too). Not that I know what a mysql database is for yet, but im doing my best to learn this stuff...

Somebody on the Joomla forum told me: "if you have the cpanel access to your web space then try uploading through cpanel using zip files upload feature. It will upload faster. "
- can you tell me if it's possible for me to do this? I looked in my File Manager in the Control Panel, but it says "The total files' size you can upload at a time with the File Manager is 500 KB! For larger data uploads, please use FTP instead."

- so is my only option to upload the unzipped files using Filezilla?

Thank you very much
