I've installed Drupal 4.7.4 and it seems to run fine, except for the (pretty darn vital) admin/settings page. Instead of getting the usual settings forms, I just get the error message:

Code:
Multibyte string input conversion in PHP is active and must be disabled. Check the php.ini mbstring.http_input setting. Please refer to the PHP mbstring documentation for more information.

Is there anything I can do to fix this from my end? Or can you guys fix it from your end? I love Drupal, and unfortunately one needs to have the up-to-date version to run the add-on modules currently downloadable from the Drupal site... and I need some of those modules for my sites.

TIA

Today I installed the same version of Drupal and I got exactly the same error message while changing some important settings. I looked into the 'mbstring' helpfile of PHP, but unfortunately that isn't helpful.

I hope someone has a solution for this problem. Drupal is a great CMS, but with these setting problems it's almost worthless.

Okay, I got the solution:

Make a file 'php.ini' and save this file in your root. Copy this text in php.ini:

mbstring.http_input = off

It works for me!
